How to Create Product Categories in WooCommerce
Organize your store professionally before adding products.
Categories make your online store easier to browse and help customers find products faster. They also improve SEO.
Create categories:
- Go to Products → Categories
- Enter a Category Name (example: Men’s Clothing)
- Enter a Slug (optional)
- Add a Category Image (recommended)
- Click Add New Category
You can create unlimited categories and subcategories such as:
- Clothing → Men → Shirts
- Electronics → Mobiles → Accessories
- Home & Kitchen → Appliances → Cookware

To add a basic product:
- Go to Products → Add New
- Enter the Product Name
- Add a Long Description (detailed)
- Select the Product Category

Set pricing:
- Regular Price (main price)
- Sale Price (optional discount)
Set inventory:
Under Inventory tab:
- Enable Stock Management
- Enter Stock Quantity
